Today is the day we have been waiting for all preseason! The inner-squad scrimmage and pot-luck! We have been working hard for the past week and a half thinking and doing nothing but volleyball. Today we get to show our families and friends are hard work has paid off. After our reception we head out on our 2 day retreat in Brainerd. We will be spending quality time together, doing fun activities, goal setting, and resting. We only have 5 days til our first game against Buena Vista Friday at St. Olaf. We are all very excited!
Also to updated you if you haven’t heard from our MIAC scrimmage we played very well and beat both Hamline and Macalaster. We unfortunatly lost in 3 to Bethel but it will give us a little more fire for when we see them in the regular season! It’s looking to be a good year for Auggie Volleyball.
I would like to apologize for the long break I took from updating the blog. Let me catch you up if you haven’t heard. We finished off our summer league with our best finish yet! We won Bethel League!! If you couldn’t be there to see us fight for the top let me tell you it was no less intense as our regular season matches that always seem to go to 5 games… lol But after our 7 hour tournament we ended up taking first!
We started our pre-season this last Thursday the 20th. The last few days have been full of team bonding and hard work on the court. We have had a few injures already but we are hoping that our trainer Becky will get them going soon enough! But other than that our pre-season is looking good. We’ve got some big hitters, height and great defense. I’m very excited!
Wednesday is our first scrimmage we will be seeing Mac, Bethel, Hamline, and Wisconsin Superior. We are all excited to compete and see how we come together in an actual game situation. There will be some seating around the gym so parents and friends are more than welcome to come watch and support! The games go from 10:30 to 3:00 so we hope to see you there!!

Auggies are 11-0 after this weekends Bethel League matches. We defeated Riverfalls, Gustavus, and St. Olaf this past sunday. A couple of weeks ago we successfully held our 3 day over night camp. It went very smooth and we had a lot of fun. This next week we are hosting our basic skills camp and positional camp. We are hoping they go as well as our last camp. This sunday we play at Bethel League at 5 against Gustavus Alumni. Hope to see you there!!
Augsburg volleyball does it again, defeating both Carleton and UW Eau Claire. Now making the team 6-0 in Bethel League. Next week we play at 6:10 and 7:20. Come support your Augsburg Auggie’s volleyball team!!
Auggies fought hard to come out 2-0 again this Sunday at Bethel League. Playing Luther and St. Kate’s was a good battle going to 3 games in both matches. Next Sunday we play 5p.m. and 7:20p.m. at Bethel come watch and support the Auggies!!!
Sunday during Bethel League Abbey took a fall. After visiting the doctor and getting an MRI they determinded that she tore she ACL. This is hard news for both her and the team. She was just coming back from her last surgery and now she has yet another scheduled for June 29th. We hope Abbey heals fast and fully!
Sunday was the kick off to our summer league. We play Sundays at Bethel against other MIAC summer teams and a few other colleges and groups of people. It is a fun and competitive league where we get the opportunity to play together during the summer and bond with our new freshmen. Sunday June 7th we played St. Thomas and Bethel. Augsburg came out on top 2-0 for the day! It was a great start to the summer and if we keep competing and working hard we should do well. If anyone is interested in coming to watch I will keep you posted on our up coming games because we always welcome a crowd!!
Coach and Mark found out yesterday that they will be having a girl! This is great news we are all excited for her! I would also like to tell Breann that I was right and for now my theory stands strong! lol
Tomorrow coach finds out if the baby is a girl or a boy!! Personally I think its a girl. Between her high bump and consistance interest in girl baby stuff my instincts say its going to be a girl but we wont know for sure til tomorrow. What do you think its going to be???
